List of Mini PCs Growing with Gigabyte Brix Extreme Unveiled
The selection of mini PCs on the market has expanded recently, with several new systems being revealed at CES 2025. Gigabyte has now introduced its Brix Extreme mini PC, equipped with a powerful AMD "Hawk Point" APU from the previous generation and a variety of connectivity options in a compact design.
The system features the 28-watt Ryzen 7 8840U PRO APU, boasting 8 Zen 4 cores and 16 threads. Performance is expected to be similar to its non-PRO version, placing it in the same category as the Intel Core Ultra 256V "Lunar Lake" CPU. The APU can be paired with up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 memory. Storage needs are taken care of by dual user-accessible M.2 2280 slots.
Connectivity options are abundant, including a 2.5 G Ethernet port, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, a mini DisplayPort, USB4 with DP, dual USB 2.0 Type-A ports, triple USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Pricing and availability details have not been released yet, but more information is expected soon. With the impressive specifications offered, the Gigabyte Brix Extreme mini PC is likely to be reasonably priced, making it a strong competitor in the small form factor PC market.
