CalDigit Unveils New Thunderbolt 5 Dock: Element 5
CalDigit has introduced a new Thunderbolt 5 dock called the Element 5. Priced at $249.95 in the US, this hub offers nine ports and up to 90 watts of passthrough power to keep devices connected. The Element 5 utilizes the latest Thunderbolt 5 standard for fast transfer speeds and capabilities.
The hub features four Thunderbolt 5 ports with a maximum bandwidth of 120 Gb/s. It also includes dual USB-C (10 Gbps) and triple USB-A (10 Gbps) ports. The 180-watt power supply allows for 90 watts of passthrough power. The hub has a sleek design and is expected to have good build quality, following the positive reviews of its predecessor, the CalDigit Element Thunderbolt 4 hub.
Windows users can connect up to three external displays using a single Thunderbolt 5 port, while Mac users are limited to two due to M4 Mac restrictions. The CalDigit Element 5 supports dual 4K 240 Hz, dual 6K 60 Hz, or dual 8K 60 Hz displays.
The Element 5 hub is now available on CalDigit's online store in the US, with availability in the UK and EU expected in mid-to-late February.
