Earlier reports suggested that Intel would begin shipping the initial Panther Lake PTL-U and PTL-H SKUs by the end of 2025, with additional models following in 2026. However, new information indicates that the much-anticipated October 9 event will focus solely on a deep dive into the Panther Lake microarchitecture. The official launch, along with the final specifications for individual models, is now expected to take place at CES 2026.
As Intel’s first major product utilizing the 18A node, Panther Lake represents the culmination of years of research and development in semiconductor manufacturing. The company has reportedly started limited shipments of 18A wafers to U.S. customers in the third quarter, with these wafers already in production. Initial output of Intel’s own CPUs based on this technology is anticipated in the fourth quarter.

Panther Lake is expected to be the primary product manufactured on the 18A node during its initial phase, with most early wafers likely destined for OEM partners for testing and integration. The PTL-U series, designed for low-power applications, will feature a 15W TDP and offer both 6-core and 8-core configurations. Some variants will combine four high-performance P-cores with four low-power efficiency (LPE) cores, while others will pair four P-cores with just two LPE-cores.
Both PTL-U and PTL-H families will incorporate Xe3-based integrated graphics. Entry-level models are expected to include four GPU cores, while higher-end PTL-H models could scale up to 16 CPU cores, comprising four P-cores, eight E-cores, and four LPE-cores. Select H-series processors may feature up to 12 Xe3 GPU cores, offering enhanced integrated graphics performance. Final details on core counts and configurations will be confirmed at the official Panther Lake launch.
